VICKS VAPO RUB ... INTERESTING

During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it. Some of us have used Vicks Vapo rub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vapo rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was a surprise finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly. My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes and believe me, this was a deep, (incredibly annoying!) every few seconds uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night that she used it. If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at how it works.TRY RUBBING IT ON YOUR CHEST TOO!!!DON'T SHUN THIS ONE ... TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle, When 24 Hours in a day is not enough, Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class And had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.' The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. 'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions - Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else --The small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, You will never have room for the things that are important to you. So... Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play With your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. 'Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.' One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled.. 'I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.' Please share this with other "Golf Balls"

Perspective

One day , the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.
They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip , the father asked his son , "How was the trip?"
"It was great , Dad."
"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.
"Oh yeah , " said the son.
"So , tell me , what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered:
"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.
We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.
Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.
We have servants who serve us , but they serve others.
We buy our food , but they grow theirs.
We have walls around our property to protect us , they have friends to protect them."
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added , "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing?

"Life is too short and friends are too few."
I appreciate each of you, thanks for being you!

Breast Cancer Awarness

As many of you understand we as women have to take care of our family, friends, the house, the grocery shopping, the bill, the laundry and on and on; but so often we forget about ourselves. I ask each of you to take time out for yourselves and take time for your yearly exams; your monthly self exams and your mammograms if old enough for them.

My mother is a two time survivor from breast cancer, I also have several aunts that have had breast cancer. A little about my mother she had been one year for her exam and mammogram and went back the next year for her routine exams again and she was diagnosed with stage 3 of an aggressive breast cancer. She had the surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. Was doing well and keeping up with all of her routine exams and she was almost at her five year remission and she was diagnosed again with breast cancer of a total different form and a form that was not as aggressive as the 1st round, so she had the surgery and is taking the chemotherapy pill for the next five years. She is almost to her 3rd year of remission again. She is doing well.

I am very lucky that God has blessed my mother and my family with the cancer and the health. You say that you are blessed because of the cancer, yes because it brought my family back to being closer again and gave my mother a different outlook on life, she understands that God gave her not only one chance but two. We live our life each day from what we have learned and shared it with everyone that we can. I am a big fan of take care of yourself and get your exams so that you can be around to take care of your family.

God bless each survivor with another day and bless all their families also.

I Am a 'Kept' Women?

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,
But GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go on no longer,
But the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,
But the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Ps. 13)

Sometimes, I think the money just isn't enough,
But GOD has helped me to keep the lights on, the water on, the car paid, the house paid, etc.., (Matt. 6:25 -34)

When I thought I would fall,
HE kept me up.
When I thought I was weak,
HE kept me strong! (I Pet. 5:7, Matt. 11:28-30)

I could go on and on and on,
but I'm sure you hear me!
I'm blessed to be 'kept.'Are you...or do you know a 'kept' woman ?

Just thought I would pass this on to my bloggy friends because I believe they are 'kept' women and to you to let you know that you are 'Kept' I'm Kept by the Love and Grace of God! I am indeed a 'kept' woman and praise God for it!

Information that was sent via email to me.....It is worth praying for and seeing what we can do.....

H.R. 3200 section 2511 of the Health Care Bill that President Obama is trying to pass states that they will put a Planned Parenthood Facility in every Public School system across the U.S. In case you didn't know ( I had no idea) Planned Parenthood is responsible for the most abortions in the U.S. Since this will be part of the Health Care Plan, that means your tax money will be paying for these abortion clinics in the schools of your daughters, grandchildren, nieces, ect.... This is not good at all. Think about the message it will be sending to our young ones on this very important issue and on the topic of sexual activity. Please don't overlook this...it is not in the news b/c the "powers that be" in Washington don't want us to know all the things involved in this plan....You can do three very important things to help this not to happen. Pray about it daily. God has the power to stop all this from happening if we will simply ask him. Also please take a few minutes to write ! or call your Congressman and Senators and let them know you are against this Health Care Plan. Finally forward this to everyone you know so others can become aware of this horrible idea.

Needing Prayer

As many of you read the blog "My Peacefully Chaotic Home" and have been keeping up with everything that has been going on, there has been more added to their plates. The Fisher Man and Everybody's Mama had gone to see a lady from the church whom had just lost her mom before church and they went to leave and Everybody's Mama foot slipped off the step and she fell. They thought that she had broken her ankle, but after a long wait at the hospital, the finally got the results and it was just a 3rd degree sprain the step before a brake. They need all of us to pray for her and the rest of her family. They are not only dealing with this, the Guitar Man's hand, but the devil has been on the whole family with many other things lately.

They are truly followers of God because yes they let all of this bother them but yet they still find the positive in everything. They are such an inspiration to me and my family. We all need to continue for strength and healing for their entire family.

What Love means to a 4-8 year old....

Slow down for three minutes to read this. It is so worth it.
Touching words from the mouth of babes. A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does love mean?'
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined See what you think:

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.' Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.' Billy - age 4

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.' Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.' Chrissy - age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.' Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.' Danny - age 7

'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that.
They look gross when they kiss' Emily - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents
and listen.' Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,' Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.' Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.' Tommy - age 6

'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.' Cindy - age 8

'My mommy loves me more than anybody You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.' Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.' Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.' Chris - age 7

'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.' Mary Ann - age 4
'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.' Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.' (what an image) Karen - age 7

this one 'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.' Mark - age 6

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.' Jessica - age 8

And the final one
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'

When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need.
Take 60 seconds and give this a shot!
All you do is simply say the following small prayer for the person who sent you this.
Heavenly Father, please bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You.
Amen.

Something to think about with all our new electronic technology....!

GPS

A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen. The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents. Something to consider if you have a GPS - don't put your home address in it. Put a nearby address (like a store or gas station) so you can still find your way home if you need to, but no one else would know where you live if your GPS were stolen.

MOBILE PHONES

I never thought of this....... This lady has now changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... Etc...was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I replied a little while ago .'When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account. Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc.... And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back. Also, when you're being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

I never thought about the above!

Fun....for a women

Girlie Wisdom!

1. A friend of mine confused her Valium with her birth control pills... she has 14 kids but doesn't
really care..
2. One of life's mysteries is how a 2-pound box of chocolates can make a woman gain 5 lbs.
3. My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.
4. The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.
5. The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you are doing,
someone else does.
6. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are
really good friends.
7. Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.
8. Sometimes I think I understand everything, and then I regain consciousness.
9. I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting fire to my
knickers'.
10. Amazing! You hang something in your closet for a while and it shrinks 2 sizes!
11. Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like...'You know sometimes I
forget to eat!' .....Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name and my keys,
but I have never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat!
12.... The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they
marry him.
13. I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse

God gave me a wonderful gift...

4 years ago at 2:00 pm I began a new part of my life. God blessed me with something and someone that I never believed would happen.

It all begin on December 18, 2004- The phone call was made and the first time to date was set. Later that afternoon of course. He says that he called to make sure that I had given him a real number. We worked together and he was my friend at work but that was it and we had talked for awhile at work on several occasions and one day we left at the same time and he asked me for my number after we had talked for almost an hour that day. So the next day I was working my second job and he called. I got butterflies inside just thinking about him and talking to him. Later that afternoon he came over and it all began from there.

We soon set out for what we both new would be the beginning of a long relationship.

March of 2005- He got down on his knee and took my hand with his hand shaking. He asked me if would marry him, and of course my reactions was an immediate yes with tears flowing down my face.

So we set off that night to tell the parents and they were all glad except my parents took a little convincing because they thought it was too soon and that they would not have time because my brother was getting married in April 2005. They soon came around and we began to finish up the details for one wedding and start planning for ours. I remember my dad calling and asking had we set a date yet because he needed to know if my wedding was going to get the money or was the fertilizer for the pastures going to get it. Which brings us to

August 20 2005- Our wedding day was so hot, but wonderful. Our wedding was in our home church. We attend a country church in a small town which was always a dream of my to one day marry in a small country church. I got dressed an friends and family were coming in and out to see me and talk with me. Doodle Bug(my step daughter) came running in to tell me that she was not happy because her aunts were messing with her daddy's truck. I told her it would be okay and she said fine, but she Daddy is going to be mad. Then that was followed by my brother to tell me that my cake was finally there but she was having to re ice it because she had put in the trunk of her car and it melted(do I need to remind you that I got married in AUGUST. She fixed the cake but my dad was upset because that was suppose to be a special day and my day (always looking out for his baby girl) but it turned out okay I guess. Well the time had come, all the guest were in their seats, the parents had been seated, the candles had been taken care of, the flower girl had walked the isle and charmed every ones heart in her bare feet and pretty little dress. Then it was my turn and my dad walked me down the isle but not before asking me if I was sure for the hundredth time. This was one thing in my life that I had never been more sure about. So the doors were opened and there was my future handsome husband waiting. Our ceremony began, we did the unity candle and then we had a song played that meant a lot to both of us and where we had been in our lives and where we were going. The song Bless the broken road by Rascal Flats was played and he sang the entire song to me, I tried to sing also but all I could do is cry, happy tears of course, and then the vows were done and it was over I was a married women and my dreams of a wonderful Godly man had come true.

That is a over view of our dating, engagement and our wedding.

I am so pleased that God found it in his heart to bless me with a wonderful, handsome, Godly man. I spend my time with my husband cherishing every minute and thanking God each day for my blessing.

I love you baby and hope you have a wonderful day and that God blesses us with many more years together. You are a wonderful part of my life and could not make it day to day without you and God. I LOVE YOU!!

Having a good week

Hope everyone is having a good week in blog world. Yesterday was a typical Monday at work. Extremely busy, people were not nice, I think that the world must have been extra grumpy because it was Monday. After a long day of nothing going the way it should, I finally made it home and my niece and sister in law came to eat supper with us and we ended up getting a hamper of peas, they stayed and helped us shell them(a big thanks to them). After the day it turn out to be a wonderful day and evening. With God showing his face in our family and in the conversations, and just to spend time with family.

We can find blessings in the good, bad, busy, and hard times if we just look.

Watching God Work

As you may know that we had a family friend get hurt a couple of weeks ago. He is still in a lot of pain but is home and recovering thanks to God being so merciful. This past Saturday we had our monthly bible study at the house and our friend was able to come along with about 19 others from our church. We had a wonderful devotional given, followed by discussion time. If we really listened close God was speaking loud. It was a wonderful time as always to open our home to not only our friends but those who are like minded when it comes to Christ. After church on Sunday we went down to my sister in laws house, we had another friend that stopped my husband and thank him that he thought about him when our friend got hurt that someone needed to call him and let him know, His words to my husband were that "He was glad that he thought about calling him, that it gave him goose bumps and a wonderful feeling to know he cared enough about him for him to call."

This was a thought from my husband but we never realize how something so simple could mean so much to someone and show them God at the same time.

God will appear every minute of everyday if we just listen and pay attention.

This is for the ladies...

Subject: mermaid or whale

Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tanned woman appeared in the window of a gym... It said: ¨THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID, OR A WHALE? ¨A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life; they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins -stuffing themselves with shrimp and other delicacies of the sea. They play and swim in the oceans, seeing exotic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia... Whales are excellent singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of psychoanalysts due to an identity crisis. Fish or human? Human or fish? They can't have a sex life, because they kill the men they lure close to them. Therefore, they can't experience the joys of motherhood. They are purported to be exceedingly vain and capricious. Not only that, who wants to be near a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.

P.S: We are=2 0in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who still makes me shiver and a coffee with m y friends. With time, we gain weight, because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that, when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So, we aren't heavy; we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror, I will think, "Good gosh! Look how smart I am".

A Wonderful Update

Our friend is doing well, still in a lot of pain but he has nothing broke and the MRI showed everything okay except for bruising. He is going to come home either tonight or in the morning. They still need our prayers he has a long way to go both physically and spiritually. I thank everyone for all their prayers.

This family is our family also, they are much closer than friends to us and we see him as our brother. It was a hard thing to see him hurt and helpless. It makes us all stop and see how blessed that we are. We need to take everyday as if it is our last and make it count.

Update

Our friend, his family and I do appreciate the prayers.

Just a little update. He had an MRI yesterday and they are waiting to see a back surgeon this morning. From what we are told this is a precaution. He rested well last night but is in pain again this morning.

The prayers are still needed for his health, family and his spiritual healing.

A Special Prayer Request

We had a friend, his father in-law, my brother in- law and a neighbor that had all stopped to take a break and decided that they would go swimming in the pond. This pond has a rope swing and they were all having a good time when the friend took his second turn and let go to early causing him to land wrong. When he did it cause him to land on his arm and head. When we all got there they told us that they had pulled him from the pond after they had found him. He keep telling us that his arm was broke and then while the wait on the ambulance his said my neck hurts. Long story short they got him to the hospital and did say that nothing was broken he was bruised and had swelling in his neck. They sent him to a bigger hospital were there would be a neurosurgeon on call because of the swelling in his neck.

They were all talking earlier with my husband and our preacher about God and how instantly something could happen. The thing is that our friend knows about God and has turned away.

I ask that you could all say a special prayer for our friend and his family that he will be okay. I also ask that you say a prayer for all that were with him and the rest of our friends that are not were they need to be because this has affected them all. Our prayer for them is that they get right with the Lord and be saved by His grace before it is to late.

This did get them all thinking, because when we got back from the hospital my husband was talking with our brother in- law, and he has always said "just give me two days before something happens to me and I will get right." I think that he has realized know that he may not have those two days. Lets just keep praying because God has a reason for all this we just have to realize what it is.

Busy little bees

I have not really had time to think about a post lately, have barely had time to read any. Hope everyone has been doing well.

I have been a busy little bee working for VBS. That was a fun time, although I surely could not have made it without God having grace and mercy on me. This was my first time as being a director and organizing this. I was sitting at the kitchen table coloring a picture that I had drawn and Doodle Bug came running by and wanted to know what I was doing, explained to her that I was coloring a picture for VBS and she began to look at all the others that were laying on the table and she said that looks like a lot of hard work why do you want to do all that. I explained to her that it was a lot of work but I was doing it because God had called me to do VBS and that was part of working for his kingdom. She says well can I help do God's work? Of course you can, she said it will be fun and we can make God happy at the same time.

Doing God's work can be hard but we all need to remember to look at it through a child's eye. I can certainly say that I had a lot of fun getting ready and it was a lot of work, that all came to light when you see the children smiling and enjoying themselves as they learn, sing, and dance about God and His word.

Just to see them smile makes you being tired and worn out worth it.

We learned one big thing this week and it was "We cannot complain and praise God at the same time" So lets do a lot more praising God and less complaining.

Happy 4th of July.

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July.

Remember that we need to pray each day for our freedom. Our Freedom is not free, many have given their lives.

May God Bless each and everyone of you.

The Storm

This was sent to me via email and thought it was worth sharing! Hope everyone has a good weekend.

One day a young lady was driving along with her father. They came upon a storm. The young lady asked her father what should she do, he said "keep driving". Cars began to pull over to the side, the storm was getting worse. What should I do the young lady asked, "keep driving" her father replied. On up a few feet she noticed eighteen wheelers was pulling over also. She told her dad, “I must pull over I can barely see ahead. It is terrible out here everyone is pulling over. Her father told her not to give up just keep driving. Now the storm was terrible but she never stopped driving and soon she could see a little clearer. After a couple of miles she was on dry land and the sun was out. Her father said, “Now pull over and get out.” She said "but why now?" He said "Get out and look back at all the people that gave up and are still in the storm. You never gave up and now your storm is over..” I thought this was a testimony for anyone who is going through a difficult time. Just because everyone else, even the ones that appear to be the largest and strongest gives up. You don't have to, because if you keep going, on up ahead your storm will soon be over and the sun will shine upon your face again. Never give up, because GOD will never give up on you. He has the last say so.

God is bigger than any storm that we face and He will see us through the storms of our life - all we have to do is trust Him!

Vacation

Well we have been on vacation this week. We have went south to the beach and it has been fun but busy. Life with an eight year old at the beach that has never been before is fun. She has said lets do this lets do that and not really wanting to slow down and do anything. We have had fun and family time and that is what we came for. So far we have went to the zoo, beach, pool, beach, pool, golfing, pool beach. Lots of fun.

This hotel is neat they have a lot for the kids to do. They also have a mascot named Splash. She will come and tuck the kids into bed. Just to see the smile across Doodle Bugs face when a dolphin showed up at her door to tuck her in is love that warms parents hearts.

Well we must go and enjoy the beach and pool a little more before we have to come home.

See everyone and will catch up shortly.

Careful what we say

There was a young wife, mom of 20 month old, and a step mom to a twelve year old in my office yesterday, while working on some things for her we were having some casually conversation and she was talking about their experience with a new church that they had visited last Sunday and she said a lady came up to her after the service and said " you know we have another service for you and the children". This young mom immediately made up her mind well we will find a another church for next week. She said I am sure that she did not want it to come across or sound the way that it did. She then went on to sayto herself that we will just go somewhere else.

The point is we need to be careful how and what we say. Because that one simple statement made that mom feel unwelcome and she said that she would not go back. Everyone needs a place to worship no matter how young or old. This precious little girl can not go to church with out her Mom and her mom with out her.

This family also needs your prayers she is going through some hard times and things are starting slowly but surely to make a change. The thing is she has and keeps on pushing even when she is push down or backwards each time. She just needs our prayers that she will continue to have the strength to continue this and that she will continue to see what God is doing for her and her family.

Loving Redneck Husband

Okay my husband never ceases to amaze me. The other day we had cooked steaks for his mother, father, all his sisters and their families. Lunch was good. Okay so here is the real story we were getting ready to take our niece home after she had helped us with a couple of errands and to bath the dogs{what a chore:)) }. It is about 7pm and my lovely husband decides that he is hungry had a steak left so he heats it up and yes you got it eats a rib eye steak going down the rode driving. He has the entire steak in a paper towel and yes he ate every bite. Glad he is a good driver, we laughed so hard at him till we had tears rolling.

My husband is a wonderful man of God, loving father and husband. But you never know what he will do next.

Humor for Friday!

Blessings and have a good weekend!

Wednesday Prayer Request

Hope that everyone is having a good day. Mine has been well and blessed because God allowed me another day with my family, friends and the ability to be able to smell and see.

We need a special prayer for a friend. He has a some rough times and God has got him through but we are afraid that Satan may be trying to take over again. He knows the difference between right and wrong but sometimes we just need a little extra prayer and a good kick in the rear. It is always good to have friends that look out for you even when you are scared to ask for help because we are ashamed. That is something that we should not be is ashamed to ask for help but our pride gets in the way. This is most of the time why we fall when we shouldn't.

Thanks for all the prayers, I am sure that he thanks you as much as we do.

Blessings!

Living in the South

You know that you live in the south when you go to a local restaurant and there are about ten grown men all standing around amazed at a stuffed turkey. One of the gentlemen apparently was the owner of his prize bird because he was the one with the big cheesy grin and telling the story.

If we all got as enthused about God as they did over the turkey we would live in a much better place.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and blessed one.

Blessings!

Special Prayer

I have a friend and her family that need a special prayer, she has teenage children and they are trying to run over her because they have always done this. Now that they are teenagers and one of them has a child of her own it is worse. The mom feels as if she is being punished. She is not were she needs to be she has walked away from God to a certain point. Need some prayer for her and her family and me because she has asked to talk to me and I told her that I would be glad to but I needed to pray about what she had already told me and the questions that she had asked me. I will be glad to take any advice or any scriptures that would help me with this, and ask if you read this to say a special prayer for them. Thank you and may God continue to bless each and everyone of you and your families.

Children

How much does your child have your heart?

I know that mine has my heart wrapped up in here little hands. When they smile and say "I love you", the are not feeling well and the come get in your lap, the fall when riding their bike, the say "Lets go play"( you go and then you need a rest, because you are just not as young as you use to be), you share that special moment when it may the first time they have done something, they come home with a A in school, etc. Each time they do or say something they have your heart that much more. This is true with your own and with your extended families kids as you are a part of their life also.

What I find in this is such a blessing and a miracle from God. We need to be happy with what God has given us and not worry about what he has not. As we have learned in our M& M Class at church you can be a mom in many different aspects of life and in a child's life. As I struggle and deal with not having a child of my own, I really stop and realize how lucky I am to have my doodle bug in my life and to have my friends and family children's in my life. I say all this to say, Thanks God for such wonderful blessings.

How peaceful and blessed our lives really are!

As I was sitting on the steps of our country church yesterday for our sunrise service, watching the birds fly and sing, the preacher preaching, planes flying over, and the wonderful big bright orange sun rise, with all my family and friends close by.

I realized a couple of things:

1: We can worship freely-
2: How beautiful the sun was coming up time after time
3: How lucky and blessed I am to have a wonderful husband, family, and friends to be able to share life with

and 4: Was that watching the planes fly over the world does not stop even on Easter.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Easter and stopped just for a little while to enjoy the real meaning of Easter.

"Eating -Jesus"

Well we had the Church Easter Egg hunt for the kids this past Saturday. All went well and we all had a good time. The kids rushed off to find the eggs that the men folk were so gracious to hide. Some of our children are experts at this and some it was there first time. After they found the eggs and went back to get the few they had left. My little doodle bug and her friend were sitting on the ground with their basket full of eggs and they wanted to know if they could eat one of there real eggs, and of course they could what would be more fun than that. So my little doodle bug turns around to were all the grown folks were standing and said "I am going to eat Jesus-- we all laughed but when she finished her statement between the laughing of the adults -- she said "I am going to eat Jesus so he will be in my heart."

I guess we need to be careful of what we see and say, because I see now that even an egg that has been died colors for Easter that has the word Jesus on it can be a witnessing tool. Just goes to show that our children are listening and learning, and still have that wonderful imagination of different ways to get Jesus in their lives.

Wonderful Wednesday

Having a wonderful day. I enjoyed some time off work and them when I came back yesterday realized how much I really do, busy all day long. The blessings of having a job that you love to come to everyday is great. Despite having to work by myself each day I really realize how wonderfully lucky that I am.

I am a very blessed person with work, family, friends and most of all God.

As I am at my desk working watching the rain still fall, the cars pass, and the birds flutter in the flower bed is all small blessing from God and another sign of just how blessed we are.

Just simple rambles of life.

Staying Aware

Well it Tuesday. Made it thru the Monday daily chaos of life and work. Have fallen behind in my reading of the dare book. I have finished day 1,2, and 3

Day one - Patience
Day two- Kindness
Day three- Selfishness

We are doing things slowly and taking each day and accomplishing them in our marriage and in the daily lives before we go on.

It just amazes me that the devil thinks he can slide in anywhere and at any time when you go to doing something for God. The point I have become to realize is that he can get in and easily anywhere if we let him. We must always stay aware of the devil and his lurking when we are trying to strengthen ourselves in our Godly life. When you try to work on something the harder he tries to sneak on in.

Stay aware and stay prayed up.

God's Blessings

Had a friend call me this afternoon with proof and relief that God is still working. Just goes to show as I put in my earlier blog that God works with small blessings all around us.

Praise God!

It is Friday folks

As I am sitting here working away, I catch myself thinking of wanting to be outside in the sunshine. As today is the first day of spring, I can here the birds singing, see the flowers blooming and here the lawnmowers working. It is just another sign of how God is still at work, we must never be to busy to stop and think of the small things that He blessed us with that makes everything seem wonderful.

Guess I will have to settle for opening the door and wait for Saturday to be able to go out and enjoy the sun for awhile.

Everyone have a good, safe, and blessed weekend !!!!!

Everything Green

Well we had our green day at church. The kids had a good time some calling it the green party. Food was interesting. I made green "fat free" cupcakes-- not, but the idea everything green is good for you was a thought; and of course green tea(not really a good idea for southern sweet tea - kinda changes the taste) and of course the green hamburger pie. Who new you could die hamburger green! Glad it tasted better than it looks. We all had a good time and to be in Gods House was wonderful once again. I thank God for all my family and friends.

The Love Dare Book

As you all know my family and I have seen Fireproof. It was great- suggest all who have not seen it watch it. Well I had not been able to get out of my mind The Love Dare book. Purchased it the first of this week and have started it. My husband has chose to do this with me. We just started it and we both have decided to start journals of our own for each day. Our marriage is good, strong and faithful. I believe there is always room for improvement. Will keep you posted on how the dares go. So far we are one for one. Only have 39 more to go.

The first day is patience.

"Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger." (James 1:19)

American Dream

Tuesday morning on the way to work listening to the local radio station, they were talking about the prefect women or man. The man was one that check in and gave the wife the daily schedule, talked with the kids, gave her the time she needed, etc. The women was one that never bothered her husband during that football game, loved to fish, hunt, and kept the home peaceful. The comments that were called in said "Where can I find him or her; that sounds like a dream come true." One man called and said that he had a friend that his wife put her husbands clothes out every morning, had his coffee made before he went to work, the friend said that he wish she didn't do this, because she didn't have to. This got me thinking; I put my husbands clothes out, make his breakfast, fix his lunch and so forth most everyday. I do these things because I want to not because he expects it. I do my best to keep my house in peace and orderly. Not that this always happens. LOL. At our M&M Class this past week we talked about are we living someones dream and what it takes to keep our house in peace.

I have given this a lot of thought, and have decided that I am one very lucky women to be living out my dream. That is living out that American dream for earth and living also the dream of the Godly life on earth. What better peace than to have a wonderful Godly husband, a beautiful step daughter that I have the chance to to help raise in the Godly way, and to have friends, family to love and help in many different ways.

YES I AM LIVING THE AMERICAN DREAM! AND ONE DAY WILL LIVE THE HEAVENLY DREAM ALSO! THANK GOD I AM BLESSED!

Green Cooking

Good Morning—

Hope everyone has had a good weFont sizeekend. I was blessed with another good weekend. Well everyone knows that we are having a St. Patrick’s Day fellowship at church this week. Okay I decided to see what my meal would turn out and how it would taste so I tried it early. Well I cooked it before we went to church it looked interesting then. When we got home from church, I dipped some out and put it in the plate to heat it and it was all over with from there. I looked at my husband and he looked at me and the laughing began and continued on for some while. It looked really gross, as if it had been in the fridge for months--- looked like something that you would see in the college student’s fridge.

However the taste was not bad, the look however is still to be determined.

Friday the 13th

Well as all know today is Friday 13th. I have heard people talk today and be discouraged because it is the 13th day of the month and it is Friday.

I am having a good day, because I got up each morning as I normally do and thanked God for another wonderful day. If He blesses us with the day, but we make of it what we want. Hopefully this is always in his plan.

I am one of those people that would be horrified of a Friday 13th, but as my faith has grown I look at it as being the 13th day of the month and it just happened to fall on a Friday.

Let us all take a moment today and say an extra special pray for someone and thank God for another beautiful day.

Cooking Green

Hope everyone’s week is going well, have been trying to figure out something all week. We are having a fellowship at our church for St. Patrick’s Day next week, but there is a catch to this you have to cook something green. Do you know how hard it really is to come up with something green that is unique and that everyone else will not be cooking is? HARD. If anyone has any suggestions will be glad to take them. I will let you know next week how this turns out. This will be fun and interesting.

Do you ever have one of those days that you just would like to stay with your head under the covers all day long with no one to bother you?

Well today was one of those days for me for no particular reason. But with God’s grace and hand I got up because I knew that he had given me a great opportunity called family and that they needed me to take care of them. You know sometimes we think of the daily chores of fixing breakfast, lunch, washing clothes, making the bed, cooking and general picking up as a chore but I have come to learn through my studies with God, a women’s class, and friends in general that the are not have to they are blessings that we get to do them and that we have someone to do it for. I have started trying to look at by daily duties not as chores but as because I Love my family. It really makes things easier when you are having one of those days.

Just remember that God has a plan for us and everything that we do in our lives. So we need to always try to do everything to our best and do it for God.

Thank Gooness it is Friday

I am so glad that it is Friday. I work inside for a living so I have not been able to enjoy these past few pretty days(but from the inside). I am so glad for the weekend to almost be here and that it is going to be a pretty weekend. My family has a fun and packed weekend as usual, but to me there is nothing better than enjoying the days that the Lord has made with family, friends and sunshine. Hope everyone make the best of the weekend and stops to think about God giving us the strength to make it through another week and enjoy each day

Be Blessed

Listening to a local radio station this morning on the way to work-- they were asking people to call about what they were eating when they were poor. Some were funny and some were just gross. But was amazing is that most people called and said that they did not think they were poor, they just thought it was common. Most callers would say even though we were eating this or that, we were a blessed family.

This is another example of how we do not always have to have the best or the finest things to make us happy. God, family and friends go a long way to making people happy and life wonderful.

A lot of times just throwing a meal together and having friends or family over is usually better than having that expensive meal (isn't that right, Everybody's Mama and Mama Hen).

If you just take time to stop and look we all have blessings all around us. Lets take time today to stop and find at least one blessing.I bet if we look we can find more than one.

Learning to Witness

Good Morning. Hope everyone is doing well today.

Ever feel so close to God that you feel as if you are sitting in his lap. Over this last weekend and the first of this week that is how I feel. I have back that feeling when I first became a born again Christian- saved only by Gods grace. I have had a wonderful couple of weeks, God has blessed me with many blessings as he always does these just have been more visible. My husband and I have communicated more, have that feeling back stronger (like when we first started dating), seen God working in my family and friends lives.

One thing that we need to always remember is that God calls us to witness. We have to witness in many different ways. That can be in the form of a simple smile, a soft hello, talking to someone about your day, listening to someone’s story of there day, having that soft hug, that shoulder to let someone cry on, or talking to someone about Jesus. These are just to name a few. I have been taught something over the past couple of months, that being we always need to be ready to witness. This can be done any many ways and we have to get out of our comfort zone of church and mix with the sinners. Lets face it most of the people in your church are saved, your worldly people are not and they are in many different places. Of course you must be careful were you go to witness because you don’t want to give someone the wrong impression of your Godly character by like going to the bar or something like that, but I truly believe that you can go to someone’s house and visit if there are people there that you know are sinners, for example. Lets face it we all were sinners at one time and someone share GOD with us.

Let’s all make a commitment to witness this week.

Weather in the south

Well this weekend has been a blast and boy did time fly by. We had a intresting weather weekend, we all went from wearing short sleeves and riding horses on Saturday, to waking up to snow on Sunday. It was a intersting weekend.
My country boy and I were talking on the way home from church about the snow; as we were driving home in it; about how wonderful and how alive God truly is if you can just slow down long enough to see and take in the beauty. We do not think much about it when we have the rain becuase we see it all the time. The snow on the other hand we living in the south we don't see very much at all. So when we do the kid comes out in all of us. The beauty of the snow coming home and when we got home was wonderful, flowing like a free bird and all different shapes and sizes. Gods natural beauty of giving us different things such as snow, rain, fall and summer are wonderful things that we need to slow down and take in. Slow down and smell the flowers.

PS-- The snow does not last long in the south - the snow had finally started to stick and by the time we had all finished eating lunch(which the kids did not want to eat because they wanted to go play in the snow) it had started to melt. But however the wind was cold as we olds folks indured the cold for the kids.

Today is my first blog. I am learning a lot. My days are filled with mostly love, laughter, work, and headaches of trying to get everything done. We have recently bought a home and some land (pecan orchard). So we decided to build a porch on the front of the house. That has been an experience, but we are all most finished. The good thing is that we have made it and no real problems. This is the first big project that my husband and I have taken on and we did it with no fights ( if we had not that would have been our 1st fight)-- Thank God he has helped us again--. We did this last Friday and Saturday morning I went out and looked at the porch and told him that we must have done okay because it is still standing. Doodle Bug reply's "well why shouldn't it be, if it was done right".
